on a lion's head, a tower above.
Miniature in opaque white and colors on gold
leaf as filling of an initial "I" (c. 82 x 10 mm), furthermore an initial "M"
(10 x 10 mm) in blue, mauve, white and black.
Justification 125 x 80 mm, 2
columns, 50 lines. Hand-written in black-brown ink on animal vellum. Very fine
Gothic script. Highlighted in red, titles and numbers in blue and red. Recto a
two-line initial flourished in blue-red.

Medieval Manuscript Leaf from a Miniature Perl Bible, dated about 1240 A.D., Paris, France.
Manuscript on Vellum, richly decorated and illuminated initial. This is an
original Medieval Vellum Leaf from a beautiful decorated Miniature Bible,
filigree painted and illuminated initial. Latin gothic script, hand-written
in brown ink, distinguished text in red, excellent calligraphy, extremly
thin and fine vellum. A true masterpiece of art !
Condition: in view of the high age in good condition with few traces of
ageing. Vellum with few very, very small holes at the margin. Some parts of
the initial's margin had small holes from corrosion by the green colour,
this was restored from the backside hardly to be seen from the front side of
the initial.

John the Evangelist" with eagle and roll, below the Coat of Arms of
Rouen, surrounded by floral
decorated borders, tendrils, blossoms, a bird and a Drolerie. Below the
Miniature 4 lines of text
with large initial " I ", surrounded by decorated border with tendrils.
Verso manuscript with floral
decorated border and blossoms. In view
of the high age in very good condition with few traces of ageing.One very
small hole professionally closed.
